require a vignette

A road vignette — from the French for "little vine" — is a prepaid highway access tax required in many European countries. Instead of paying at individual toll booths, you purchase a vignette for a set period and gain unlimited access to the entire motorway network for the duration.

  • 2Must be affixed to the inside of the windscreen, visible from outside
  • 3Available in annual, monthly, weekly, or 10-day durations depending on country
